Portrait no.6

My main inspiration for this piece would be Staircase Group (Portrait of Raphaelle Peale and Titian Ramsay Peale) by Charles Willson Peale. I specifically copied this work of art to give it that “window on the world” effect a lot of Neoclassical artworks usually presented. In addition, I also considered other Neoclassical aspects like stoicism & a one point perspective. These attributes are also a part of Renaissance works, & it makes sense they would be back in Neoclassical works knowing the fact that Neoclassical period was basically inspired by the same Roman classical works the Renaissance period was inspired by. My aim for this portrait was to depict Squidward in relation to his work, as in this portrait he’s about to leave his house to “fulfill his civic duty.”
