Portrait of Squidward in the Rococo artstyle
Portrait no.5

For this next masterpiece, I again, blatantly steal the composition from another art piece, with the piece in question being Self-Portrait by Elisabeth Louise Vigée Le Brun. I referenced this artwork in particular to show off Squidward doing something he actually cares about as well as present the very whimsical & free style a lot of Rococo art displayed. I also aimed to capture that free essence by making it more painterly, a painting style that was often used to symbolize the noble’s own freedom to being under the thumb of King Louis XIV when they lived back in Paris. But here, Squidward’s freedom is shown very idealistically with his bright perfect complexion mixed with the unrealistic vibrant nature behind him.
